Why you should remove underground tanks

Abandoned underground tanks and leaky buried fuel tanks may: pose a hazard to your health and investment, cause offensive odours, contaminate surface and subsurface soils.

In the last forty years, thousands of storage tank systems for petroleum and allied petroleum products have been installed on federal lands, mainly to service an expanding transportation sector. Many of these storage tank systems were fabricated from carbon steel without corrosion protection. As these systems age, they are more likely to fail due to corrosion.

Leaks from storage tank systems can have devastating environmental and economic impacts. Small quantities of diesel and gasoline can cause offensive odours, contaminate surface and subsurface soils, render drinking water from aquifers non-potable and create explosive build-ups of vapours in basements and other underground structures.

Just hire Eco Metal and the job gets done properly. Eliminate the potential risk of an abandoned underground oil tank? The way to eliminate this risk is to remove the threat by removing the dormant underground tanks!

We recommend that you remove your abandoned underground tank as soon as possible!

How to tell if your property has an Abandoned Underground Storage Tank?

There are many telltale signs of Underground Storage Tanks (UST's) being located on your premises.

If you find pipes in your yard, copper lines coming into your basement, a old fuel filter in the basement, these are for sure signs that a tank is in the ground.

The best way to explain is for us to illustrate with actual photos that show the evidence of former underground storage tanks that have been abandoned.
